Blind charity to host Dame Judi Dench premiere
Cate Blanchett and Judi Dench
A charity for the blind is hosting a fundraising premiere of the new Hollywood blockbuster starring Cate Blanchett and Dame Judi Dench.

The Royal London Society for the Blind is staging the showing of the psychological thriller Notes on a Scandal at The Screen in Oxted.

Last year the Sevenoaks-based charity benefited from a premiere showing of the James Bond film Casino Royale.

The premiere will be combined with a short presentation about the RLSB which provides education and training for blind and partially sighted children and adults.

There will also be a display of artwork and pottery by partially sighted children who attend the society’s Dorton House School.

Tim Ewer, community fundraiser for the RLSB said: “We had a very warm reception from the people of Oxted for the Casino Royale premiere and are delighted that The Screen are giving us the opportunity to build on this relationship.

“We hope to raise even more awareness and funds with the release of Notes on a Scandal.”

Tickets for the special screening will cost £7, with £1 going to the RLSB. They are available from the box office on 01883 722288.

The event starts at 7pm on Friday, February 2, with a champagne reception.
