A benefits cheat has been ordered to perform 100 hours’ community service for wrongly claiming just under £2,500.
Andrew Turner, 52, of Christianfields Avenue, Gravesend, continued to receive his jobseekers’ allowance, housing and council tax benefits even after landing a part-time job.
He was sentenced by Medway magistrates on Thursday after pleading guilty to benefit fraud.
As well as the community service, Turner was also ordered to pay £100 court costs.
