A string of X Factor stars are set to reunite for a special concert in Herne Bay this summer – with local star Ben Mills headlining.

The Kings Hall will host the X Factor night that includes singer Dionne and Midlands soul group 4Sure – both acts who appeared in the hit ITV1 talent show last year.

A spokesman for the venue told us: “It should be a great night. Ben is from Whitstable so this is something of a homecoming show for him and we’re expecting a big crowd.”

Ben will hope the show will help swell sales of his debut album A Picture of You that burst into the charts at number three last month but has since plummeted to number 64.

And for Ben fans it is only one of three Kent shows for the 26-year-old this summer who is making up for leaving the county off his first full solo tour schedule later this year.

He will play an intimate date at Maidstone’s Pizza Express on May 11, and on July 21 he will headline a one-day music festival in Faversham – SugarLive 2007.

Then the August Bank Holiday weekend will get off to a rocking start as Ben headlines a show at Herne Bay’s Kings Hall theatre.

The singer had disappointed fans in the county who had voted in their droves to take him to the semi-final stage of the ITV1 talent show – before he was edged out of the grand final by swinger Ray Quinn and eventual winner Leona Lewis.

But news of the shows will delight his fan base.

Glenn Nash, who runs the successful unofficial Ben Mills fan site BenMillsOnline.co.uk said the singer will be sure of a warm welcome: “This is excellent news for all his fans, knowing that Ben will be coming back to Kent where he has a great fan base.

“There is a huge buzz about Ben coming back to Kent to perform and I have no doubt all his fans young and old will turn out in force to support him all the way.

“The great thing about Ben is that he always has time for his fans, signing autographs and posing for pictures.”

• Tickets for the Kings Hall show go on sale on April 23. They can be snapped up by logging on to www.kingscaterers.co.uk.
