The Batchelor’s factory in Ashford is facing closure – with almost 200 jobs set to be lost.
Premier Foods, which owns Batchelor’s, said the factory – which employs 195 people – would be closed by May 2008.
"There are sufficient jobs at other locations to accommodate everyone from Ashford that would wish to relocate," said a spokesman.
The company is also planning to shut a factory in Kings Lynn and expand sites in Long Sutton, Wisbech and Worksop.
Premier said it expected to save around £28 million per year after three years from the closures.
The factory makes the firm’s famous soups and also Oxo cubes.
Batchelor’s was sold by Campbell's Grocery Products to Premier Foods last August.
