Sebastian Ward Turner will be exhibiting a collection of oil paintings at the Wilberforce Scout Centre

Local artist, Sebastian Ward Turner, will be exhibiting a collection of oil paintings at the Wilberforce Scout Centre this month, and donating sales to Bromley Mencap.

Influenced by impressionists Monet and Sisley, his land and seascapes also reflect the works of his namesake, JMW Turner.

This exhibition will also feature his portraiture and studies of the human form, as well as equine paintings.

Mr Ward Turner favours Plein Air painting (painting in the open air) but he also enjoys the peace and quiet of his studio, taking inspiration from a combination of photographs and, of course, his considerable imagination.

At a time when the inadequacies of social care in the UK seems to be headline news on a daily basis, the artist will be donating a percentage of all sales in support of Bromley Mencap, a local charity which helps those with learning disabilities, their families and carers.

His work can be seen at www.sebastianwardturner.co.uk and on Instagram: www.instagram.com/sebwardturnerart.

On his website, it can be seen that he has already enjoyed several exhibitions, his last in 2016 entitled Equine, whereby the study of horses was the central theme.

The Wilberforce Scout Centre is on Downe Road in Keston, Bromley. For satnav users, the postcode is BR2 6AD.

Mr Ward Turner’s exhibition is on January 28 and 29, from 10am to 6pm, and entrance to the exhibition is free.
